About Craig
Craig Cox has long experience in top governmental, political and trade association arenas.
Craig founded the Interwest Energy Alliance trade association and served as its executive director for ten years. Since its inception, Interwest has maintained a reputation for thoughtful, strategic advocacy of policies and regulatory decisions leading to the development and operation of many gigawatts of new wind and utility-scale solar generation that provide clean, affordable, low-carbon electric power to utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, and large consumers across the Intermountain West.
Craig has taken part in numerous task forces and working groups that advance cooperation and understanding among diverse stakeholder groups, especially in the areas of clean energy and climate change policies. He received the “Governor’s Excellence in Renewable Energy” award from Governor Bill Ritter of Colorado, along with the Colorado Environmental Coalition’s “Conservation Award” and the “Wind Advocacy Award” from the American Wind Energy Association.
While working for Congressman Dan Schaefer (R-Colo.) in Washington, D.C., Craig initiated the establishment of the U.S. House Renewables and Energy Efficiency Caucus on Schaefer’s behalf. This caucus is an officially recognized bipartisan Congressional Member Organization that educates Members of Congress on clean renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.
Craig received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Master’s degree from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
